8/9/07
Thu 8/9 - PM 70 minutes easy
Loop that included portions of Longfellow Loop and a brief visit to Area 51, where the flies weren't as bad as I had expected. Feeling craptacular today, very tired and flat. Planned on drills and strides but no energy for it. Right hammie sore as well. Need to sleep more. Much nicer weather today than the past three days, much drier and not as hot.

Mark,
Run down by the Sudbury River behind Bear Hill (or what ever the Don Henley place is called) What is that contraption in the water.
Didn't see anything near Bear Garden Hill the other day, but I did see one of these docked near Fairhaven Bay...

I'm guessing this is what you saw. It scoops up water chestnuts, an invasive species. The seeds of the water chestnut are hard with multiple sharp spikes, they litter the shore along Fairhaven Bay. Nasty.

That is it, I'm sure.
