Fri 6/6 - PM 40 minutes, Area 51
Flat-out exhausted by late afternoon today, just looking to get in a shakeout before racing tomorrow. Felt better, at least more alert, by the end of the run. One more day of cool overcast before the steambath arrives.

Thu 6/5 - PM 50 minutes, Area 51
Not nearly as sluggish as yesterday, thankfully. Able to do strides on the way in, legs continue to feel lively if not the rest of me. Still somewhat tired. Second day in a row of dental work, today's bout more unpleasant than expected. Continued overcast and wet, cool for this time of year but not for long with oppressive heat on the way.

Wed 6/4 - PM 50 minutes easy, Area 51
Very flat today, started easy and got slower the last 15 minutes or so. Dental procedure prior to the run may have had some effect in this regard, but feeling tired all day regardless. Left calf/tib muscle sore from yesterday, right hammie not as bad after some work near the TFL on Monday. Overcast and cooler today after rain all morning.

Tue 6/3 - PM 70 minutes incl. 4x800
Second dud workout in a row, planned on 6x800 with 2.5R but it wasn't happening. Splits as follows:
2:23.9
2:23.5
2:24.6
2:26.6
started to feel the fatigue set in on the third one, but stalled in earnest at the 400 mark of the fourth rep at which point I knew it was my last one. Sterling final lap of 74. Working out alone a drag, and an obnoxious SW wind that wouldn't quit didn't help matters any. Had I waited another hour or so it would have subsided to a gentle breeze, but I didn't have that kind of time. As with the curtailed session Friday, this one can be chalked up to not getting enough sleep last week as a result of the toothache. As ever, bouncing back takes far longer than it took to get stuck in the rut. Took a dip in the pond on the cooldown, the water is still on the chilly side but I'm planning on getting into the aquajogging again soon nonetheless.

Monday 6/2 - PM just over 50 minutes, Walden woods
Flat and tired from the word go today. Cut the length of the run short and kept the pace easier today than in most previous days as a result. Right hammie not as sore as yesterday but not great either. Hopefully this mini-funk won't blossom into a full-fledged rut. Very nice day to be outside, warm and dry with modest breezes.

Sun 6/1 - PM 65 minutes Area 51
Started off easy, probably should have stayed there but the pace did increase somewhat over the course of the run. Resting pulse was elevated a few beats from the moment I woke up, still feeling the effects of so little sleep midweek and yesterday's long day didn't help matters. I had planned on running in the woods again but couldn't muster up the motivation to drive over. Right hammie twinging more than it was yesterday, a source of frustration. Despite this there's still some springiness in my legs of late. Breezy conditions, overall a nice day though I spent most if it inside.
Sat 5/31 - PM 75 minutes, Walden woods
Moving well at times today, despite being somewhat tired from standing around at a track meet much of the morning and afternoon. Picked it up the last few minutes but not to an outrageous level. Right hammie feels better than it has been the past few days. Warm and humid conditions all day, stands out in contrast to the cooler weather of late. As such got a bit overheated, a quick dip in the pond took care of that in short order.
