6/17 - PM 30 minutes plus 24 minutes in Walden plus 60 minutes bike

May well have spoke too soon on this comeback being the one that sticks, as the stubborn inflammation was definitely exacerbated by the last two days of running longer than I should have. Wishful thinking I suppose to feel that it wouldn't leave a mark. Not as painful or awkward as it was a few weeks ago, something I chalk up to the various PT exercises, but the soreness definitely reasserted itself. Along with the crap feeling in my hip upon getting up after being seated for any length of time. Not entirely sure that I should be running at all but I'd like to do something needless to say. 30 minutes may be the magic number for now, time will tell. Added on the full program of cross-training activities, nice enough day for it although the wind on the pond made for an obnoxious cross-current.

Tue 6/16 - PM 50 minutes plus 20 minutes in Walden

Hip and thigh about the same as yesterday during the run, but more sore than I'd like afterward. Creeping into TMTS territory I'm afraid once again. Unlike yesterday I knew exactly where I was going but underestimated how long the loop would take at the glacial pace I was running. Sunny and warm with a breeze. Water temp has increased since the last time I tried aquajogging, thankfully enough sun got through the last fortnight's gloom to warm it up a bit.

Mon 6/15 - PM 50 minutes very easy

Stow town forest. The plan was for 30-35 minutes but I misjudged the length of the route I chose. It has been a long time, i.e. years, since I've been to this particular spot. Rode the bike over and back. Continued improvement, hobbling less. Still stiff and sore, esp. on downhills but I'll certainly take it. Not capable of anything faster than a jog at the moment but it's looking increasingly likely that this comeback will end up sticking. Mostly overcast and cool again, as it has been much of the last six weeks.

Sun 6/14 - PM 30 minutes, Area 51.

Rode the bike over to the track and started from there. Still hobbling along but felt better than yesterday overall. Hip still inflamed (of course) but not quite as sore. The various PT exercises have proven effective so far, I've noticed a difference. Crappy overcast gloom all day but it broke in the late afternoon and was quite nice by the time I ran. Deer flies establishing themselves in the woods, not yet completely unmanageable but getting there.

Sat 6/13 - 30 minutes

Only slightly less stiff and sore than the last time I tried running 10 days ago. While PT is dealing with underlying causes, I'm still left with the aftermath of the repeatedly aggravated muscle strain. Settled into the familar pattern after 10 minutes or so. How it feels tomorrow is of some importance. First sunny pleasant day in what seems like forever.

6/3 to 6/12 - off

Motivation to cross-train at an all-time low, 10 days of the sedentary life. Spent a week on advil at the doctor's behest, started PT which will hopefully deal with inflexible right ankle and misaligned pelvis, which would appear to be the root causes of all the various right leg troubles. As I suspected, there was a leg length discrepancy but it was due to pelvic alignment rather than being congenital, and as such can be corrected with relative ease.
