Fri 5/16 - PM 75 minutes, Walden woods
Went slowly much of the way today, feeling it in my legs from the past two days in addition to the usual end-of-week fatigue. Left calf notably sore. Legs loosened up enough near the end for me to do strides on the way in however. Weather went downhill fast during the afternoon, cooler with the last 30 minutes of the run in a hard rain.

Thu 5/15 - PM 80 minutes
Area 51 via Track Road and Sudbury Road. Despite some stiffness in both calves early on, moving better than usual for the day after a track workout. Managed to do strides on the way in as well. Humidity noticeable today, overcast but still relatively warm.

Wed 5/14 - 75 minutes incl. 4k tempo, 4x800
A better effort than last week's solo Wednesday workout, although modified somewhat from what I'd originally planned. Looking to do a 4k tempo-type effort with negative splits followed by repeats at around 5k pace. Splits as follows:
4k 13:29 (3:26/3:25/3:20/3:18)
5R
2:29.6
2:28.8
2:28.4
2:26.9
2.5R between 800s
The first 4 laps of the 4k went in 5:30 and then averaging 80 second laps the rest of the way. As such the second half of it was just a bit outside my comfort zone, true tempo was closer to the 82-3 laps I was hitting early on. Shooting for a more gradual increase in the pace instead of switching gears halfway, but overall the same result. Not especially confident about how the 800s would go, after the first rep I thought I would stop at 3 and maybe some 200s but after the second rep changed my mind and stuck with 4. All were run at or close to even paced. Nothing spectacular time-wise but I'll take it, considering that the tempo created some fatigue going in. This is something I like about these combination workouts, I plan on doing them more frequently going forward. Conditions cooler and windier than I would have preferred but not awful either.

Tue 5/13 - PM 30 minutes easy
A brief shakeout to and from the supermarket for oj after an afternoon spent working at a track meet. Legs feeling better today than they have recently, hopefully this will carry through the next few days. Tib muscle has calmed down considerably. Winds calmed down as the sun set, made for a pleasant evening.

Mon 5/12 - PM 65 minutes
another roundtrip to 10 Spencer, a bit over 40 minutes on the way there via Mt. Hope. Tib muscle has calmed down noticeably from where it was last week, right hammie feels tweaked though which I'm chalking up to DOMS. Pace increased as time went on on both legs of the trip, with strides on the way in. Blustery overcast, making it feel unseasonably cold.

Sun 5/11 - double, 1:50 total
AM - 55 minutes easy, Area 51. Legs somewhat sore, as expected. Tib muscle feels fatigued for lack of a better term but not that painful. Taking it easy regardless. Sunny, warmth cut somewhat by the breeze.
PM - 55 minutes, to and from 10 Spencer via rail bed. Similar to the morning only more limber for the evening run. Decidedly cool with the sun setting, cloud cover coming in and the wind continuing apace.
