Fri 10/31 - PM 75 minutes

Coolidge Corner to the Charles, west to Watertown and then back. Started easy but picked up the pace within the first 25 minutes, also threw in some surges in pace to break up the monotony of running along the river. Right hammie felt like garbage all day at work, which had me concerned. Loosened up during the run much better than expected, then proceeded to tighten up again afterwards despite getting in a good stretch. Much warmer today than the past two days.

Thu 10/30 - PM 45 minutes, Area 51

run length curtailed by execrable condo meeting responsibilities. Felt pretty decent, loosened up noticeably around 20 minutes. Right hammie and adductor both stiff at first but got better with time. Still chilly, but not as windy as yesterday. Timed the run just right to see the sunset reflected on the surface of the brook, sublime.

Wed 10/29 - PM 55 minutes, Longfellow Loop

Moving more quickly today than yesterday. Felt at times that I might be pushing it a bit too much but kept it under control on the whole. Mulled over doing a workout of some sort today but my right leg feels a bit vulnerable and feeling zonked from staying up late last night. On top of that, the weather made it a no-brainer with a baleful westerly wind gusting all day it seemed. It didn't slack off much with the sunset. Strides on the way in.

Tue 10/28 - PM 45 minutes, Fenway

Very relaxed short run in the Boston/Brookline area. Pace very easy to start but picked up noticeably the last 15 minutes. The shorter run and low intensity were just what I needed, felt very comfortable throughout. Much cooler today with the blustery winds and spitting showers.

Mon 10/27 - PM 70 minutes, Area 51

Today was closer to being the slog I expected yesterday's run to be, although things perked up a bit the last half hour. Tired and creaky at the beginning though, plus I've developed a mild strain in my right lower back, of course related to the right leg issues of late. And bad posture sitting at my desk at work. Right hammie remains strained as well, although not to the extent it has been recently. Warm again today for this time of year, clouds coming in as tomorrow won't be nearly as nice.

Sun 10/26 - PM 55 minutes, Area 51

In something of a funk much of the day, due mainly to my right thigh feeling like crap. Pinched TFL, sore adductor and hammie, etc etc. Got a late start after waiting to digest a late and too-large lunch. What with all this I was expecting the run to be a slog but it wasn't, leg loosened up within 15 minutes and I felt like I was moving along well although that might have been from running in the darkness. Ran some strides on the way in as well w/o any problem. Cool evening after a much warmer day than what we've been having lately.
