Sat 3/25 - AM 70 minutes incl. 12k threshold run

Longfellow loop. First run of substance (i.e. workout) in far too long unless we're counting last Sunday's longish hardish effort. Trying to get something positive done after seemingly unending underachievement and compromise of late. Overall the workout went well if a bit overbaked at the start. In this respect similar to the last time I did a workout here. As such, there wasn't much of the planned progression from the first to second lap, in fact they were basically identical. Picked it up the final lap which may have been smelling the barn door. Certainly felt the increased effort, every bit of it in fact. Not quite a race by the end but fairly close to it. Somewhat windy, gray and overcast but given recent garbage weather it was more than fine. Splits:

Fri 3/24 - off

Not a planned zero. The epitome of Friday tired and unable to get out of bed from yet another blackout nap at a reasonable time. Frustrating.

Thu 3/23 - PM 65 minutes easy

Outskirts of Area 51 to Old Marlboro. Meandering route to the patrol road which of course was a socked in icy mess of lumpy frozen concrete. Short enough stretch that it wasn't completely intolerable but the trails are nowhere near accessible regrettably. Right calf somewhat pinched afteward.

Wed 3/22 - 20 minutes plus 40 minutes elliptigo trainer incl. 20x1 minute

After the past two days of lolligagging today was the time to actually do something, various ideas floating around in my head none of which came to fruition. Miserable conditions with cold and wind contributed to this but for sure I'm in a vulnerable spot mentally and doesn't take much to knuckle under. Gave up on the whole running outside thing after 20 minutes of getting blasted by the wind, and for the big workout I wound up doing minute pickups on the trainer with minute long recoveries. Some effort involved for sure but it felt like I could have kept going for hours Didn't have the time for that.

Tue 3/21 - PM 55 minutes easy

I had hoped to do something of substance but it got shoved back another day. Quite flat at the moment, incapable of establishing and maintaining a decent bedtime.

Mon 3/20 - PM 60 minutes easy

Quite tired from the weekend's travels, more than I had anticipated. Took forever to get started of course. Flat and listless throughout.
