8/5/16
Mon 8/1 - PM 75 minutes elliptigo
Meandering easy ride around S. Acton and Stow. Cool enough that visiting the pond wasn't an appealing option. Trying to lay low before tomorrow's long hard effort, combined with feeling distinctly low energy it made for a very pokey ride with lots of stops.
Sun 7/31 - AM 2 hours very easy
What passes for a long run these days. Pathetic effort that took forever to get started, saved by overcast and showers that kept the temperature down 20+ degrees lower than what it has been of late. Puttered around Concord Center then puttered around Walden. In the last 30 minutes the pace maybe, perhaps, progressed beyond a shuffle but other than that it was hobbyjogging. Incapable of doing anything resembling decent training at the moment, dug myself into a hole. As usual lack of decent sleep is the root cause and I'm doing little to nothing about it.
Sat 7/30 - PM 25 minutes plus 60 minutes elliptigo plus 16 minutes in Walden
Scaled back/avoided doing anything of substance in favor of repeating what I had done yesterday more or less. Baleful heat and humidity not helping but more importantly I continue to feel fried in general. Going through the motions.
Fri 7/29 - AM 30 minutes plus 50 minutes elliptigo plus 20 minutes in Walden
Hauling on the dork bike. Not so much the running part.
Thu 7/28 - PM 80 minutes plus 20 minutes in Walden
Lincoln woods. Celebrating the last day of the horrible no good 4 day work week schedule with a putter in the woods. Right lower leg continues to be stiff and sore around the chronically strained calf which puts a damper on picking up the pace.
Wed 7/27 - PM 35 minutes incl. 10x400
Pressed for time once again, next to last day of the horrendous long work day schedule. With a trip to the lake on bikes with the CH in the offing not much time to run and so tried to make the most of it by doing intervals on the track. 200 meter jog recoveries, with a pickup in pace the last 100 of each rep. Overbaked most of them going on feel, what else is new. Really fried right now.
