Mon 6/6 - PM 65 minutes easy

Area 51. Feeling quite frazzled after a long day at work followed directly by errands. Late start as a result. Tired as expected from the time shift.

Sun 6/5 - PM 35 minutes easy

Maynard. A very restless night of little sleep followed by a plane ride back across the country left me feeling exceedingly strung out. Needed to do some jogging to stretch the legs out if nothing else. Puttered over to the track, 12x100 fairly lethargic from there and then puttered back home.

Sat 6/4 - AM 70 minutes

Out and back run along the trails beyond Gov't Camp. Apart from an annoying number of blowdowns the trail was fairly smooth. Turned around soon after encountering the first signs of lingering snowpack. Feeling the altitude just a bit but probably not much higher than 5500' elevation anway.

Fri 6/3 - double, 60 minutes total

AM - 30 minutes, back and forth along the highway adjacent to the campsite. A stretch of road straight and flat enough to do a series of short repeats, mix of 100s and 150s. Felt reasonably good, not too stiff after yesterday's fairly quick run.

PM - 30 minutes easy, Gov't Camp. After an afternoon spent driving up to the Mt. Hood area, went for an afternoon jog with the CH. Alas we had no idea where to go and thus improvised a route that left something to be desired.

Thu 6/2 - PM 70 minutes

Out and back along the Mckenzie River trail. Triumphant return to a spectacular trail after 3 years away which is too long. Started with the CH, further downstream than where I began my run along this trail in 2013. After a relaxed start to the run we parted ways and from there the pace steadily picked up until I was moving really well the final 10 minutes or so. Felt great and the left leg held up well to it.

Wed 6/1 - double, 85 minutes total

AM - 60 minutes easy, Cape Falcon with the CH. Sloppy conditions at times on the out and back trail, downright treacherous in a few spots but well worth it for the spectacular views where the path ended at the edge of a precipice overlooking the water.

PM - 25 minutes. Returned to Portland and squeezed in a quick workout before heading out for the evening. Supremely pressed for time and hoping to do some light interval work which meant finding a suitable location ASAP. This turned out to be perhaps the most godforsaken industrial area of NE Portland along the river under the highway overpass far overhead. Did a set of 100s and 200s and then headed back.
