Tue 12/20 - PM 65 minutes incl. 6x1 minute, 8x 30 seconds, 6x 1 minute

Levittown. Back and forth and along just about every street of the warren save the hilly ones. Trying to hold something in reserve the first half of the minute long reps, with equal time recovery this was a self-regulating mechanism. The 30 second reps went with 90 second recoveries, ideally more turnover without rigging. Overall a decent workout, getting a bit tired by the end. Cold but not frigid, and with little wind thankfully.

Mon 12/19 - 36 minutes

Treadmill. 5 miles starting at 8.5 and moving up to the 10 mph max. Late start and quite cold outside, which killed all desire to head out the door. This was the fallback option. Felt quite smooth as runs on the treadmill always do.

Sun 12/18 - 55 minutes easy

Strictly roads around Maynard, as the snow has the trails socked in for now. Took forever to get out the door which curtailed the length of what was supposed to be a longer easy recovery run. Instead a shorter easy recovery run. Legs felt reasonably good for the number of laps on the track yesterday. About 40 degrees warmer than it was two days ago.

Sat 12/17 - PM 70 minutes incl. 4x1000, 2(400,400,200,200)

Mixed platter of longer and shorter reps. The threshold portion of the workout went faster than planned, although I had only a vague idea going in of what pace I could reasonably hit. Short sets with short rest, 45-50 seconds after reach 400 (on 2 minutes a la swimming intervals) and just under 5 minutes between sets. Tacked on an extra 200 to the original plan for each set. Broke the magic 35 second barrier on the final rep. Forthwith the numbers:

3:32.5 (63)
3:29.3 (60)
3:27.9 (58)
3:27.5
5R
74.5-74.3-35.1-35.1
5R
73.1-72.7-35.1-34.7

While not rigging out on the short stuff it sure felt like about the limit at the moment.

Fri 12/16 - PM 55 minutes

Area 51. Slightly longer loop than yesterday's. Similar conditions though, very cold and windy, and similar footing of course. Threw in a few pickups of modest length and intensity but hardly anything worth writing home about.

Thu 12/15 - PM 60 minutes easy

Area 51. Deep freeze arrived with a vengeance overnight with plenty of wind as well. Avoided any undue discomfort thankfully with the right selection of layers. Footing dicey in places but able to slog through regardless, slowed down on the trails of course.
