Mon 6/15 - PM 55 minutes very easy
Area 51. The original plan was to put in more time on the elliptigo today but alas, the combination of rain and cool temps torpedoed that plan. Instead, went for a superslow putter around town in what had turned into drizzle. Calves feel like complete crap.

Sun 6/14 - double, 50 minutes incl. 5k plus 60 minutes elliptigo
AM - 50 minutes including 5k around Spectacle Island. While the timing of this race was far from desirable being so close on the heels of yesterday's track race, I was unable to resist the chance to visit the island. Alas, unlike last year there were actual runners that showed up and in my vulnerable state I was no match for them. Led the first mile, not shaking the eventual second placer, then the eventual winner showed up out of nowhere and vultured both of us. Gave up just past halfway and slowed down dramatically the last mile or so. Brief cooldown then wandered around the island the rest of the time spent there.
PM - 60 minutes, elliptigo. Another errand ride to TJ's, moving with more purpose than the last time. Wanted to add some kind of volume to the day and the week, with the nice conditions and an afternoon nap I wasn't about to pass up a chance to use the elliptigo.

Sat 6/13 - PM 55 minutes incl. track 5k
First of two track 5ks which will encompass the entirety of my outdoor track season. Had hopes of running 77 pace, made a brave go of it but by halfway it was clear I wouldn't be able to hold on to that pace and the slide proceeded in relentless fashion from there. In the end averaged 79s which makes the Deek workout from the other day an accurate predictor after all if one assumes those 400 splits to be 1-2 sec. average faster than 5k pace. Still, I feel there's a bit more in the tank. The whole experience today was quite fraught in fact thanks to ongoing complications from potential side effects of recently prescribed medication. Felt tired and vaguely lightheaded most of the day despite best efforts to lay low. Warmup was thorough, conditions were a bit warm but generally quite favorable. Splits:
