Fri 1/29 - PM 65 minutes

From Coolidge to the river via Brighton Ave. Along the river, which I had pretty much to myself, as far as the BU bridge before heading back. Everything today dominated by a vicious NW wind that raked over everything. Woke up with the LG/quad attachment pinched and sore again, despite the day off yesterday. Or maybe because I didn't stretch then. Worked itself out over the course of the day, after some stiffness early on no real problems from the legs. I was able to pick up the pace at around 40 minutes and again just before the hour mark.

Thu 1/28 - off

back to the Thursday routine. Last one for a while though. LG/quad attachment tendinitis has felt refreshingly pain-free the past few days, even with the running incl. the stuff on the track. I'll take it as a good sign.

Wed 1/27 - PM 75 minutes incl. 2x400, 2x200, 2x100

Continued incremental progress. Too incremental for my tastes. 45 minute warmup in South End/Brookline with right adductor feeling stuck most of the way. The warmup drills and strides felt fantastic though, and I had my hopes up. Proceeded to run the first repeats of any length at any kind of speed (albeit modest, didn't bother to time it) in a long long long time. Made it through in one piece but the right adductor and iliopsoas started tightening up, which led to lower back tightening up some as well. I'd like to say that running the tight curves of the indoor track was mostly to blame but I can't be sure of that. Cooldown was an easy 20 minutes which felt fine. Last of the relatively mild days.

Tue 1/26 - PM 60 minutes easy

Levittown to Sheridan/Tiger Drive, post-PT adjustment. Still dragging ass like yesterday, energy levels on the low side. Some tightness in glutes/TFL on both sides but other than that no leg issues at this slow speed. Mild conditions continue.

Mon 1/25 - PM 60 minutes easy

Lnogfellow Loop via Ruddock and Loker. Feeling quite tired from the weekend. Also fresh out of the dentist's chair, although that didn't bother me very much on the run. Some general stiffness in legs but never got going fast enough to aggravate anything in either side. Unusually warm with puddles everywhere after the afternoon's soaking rains.

Sun 1/24 - double, 1:40 total

AM - 60 minutes easy, Comm Ave and river path. Relaxed effort, unpleasantly surprised by soreness in left psoas/adductor at the end. At no point was I pushing the pace that hard, must be DOMS from the last two days. Not debilitating but not welcome either.

PM - 40 minutes easy. No substantial carryover of the soreness from the morning, but I wasn't going anywhere near fast enough anyway. Gentle shakeout before stretching, which was quite necessary after all the running today.

1/23 - AM 80 minutes

Out and back along Comm Ave, from Auburndale shopping center to the reservoir driveway and back. Took it quite easy for the first 20 minutes, then picked up a bit too much too soon. Tried to keep it there for the next 30 minutes or so before picking it up again. Overall a much more pleasant experience than the last time I ran here three weeks ago, when I strained the left psoas/adductor running too far in a driving snowstorm with suspect footing. Weather and left side weren't issues today, although the right side got a little tight at the end.
