Fri 4/3 - PM 55 minutes

Area 51 once again. Braved the water crossing this time, water is less frigid but just as wet. Hip not as bothersome as it has been, but nowhere near out of the woods either. Feeling tired today from the moment I got up, no surprise really. Needed a nap before heading out for the run which churtailed its length somewhat. Also had to wait out a particularly strong line of showers, part of the on and off rain all day.

4/2 - PM 85 minutes

Crisscrossing Area 51, mostly fairly easy but some parts a bit quicker. Scrapped the planned workout, for obvious adductor-related reasons. For once discretion wins out over valor, although running at all right now might not be the best thing for it. The whole hip/thigh region felt like garbage the first 30 minutes or so, a break for some direct pressure helped a great deal and it eventually loosened up substantially. I know better than to think it'll be all clear tomorrow however. Overcast conditions broke in the late afternoon, made for a pleasant evening. Various stops near the end for nature observation, incl. more woodcocks.

Wed 4/1 - 70 minutes

Over to Elm Bank via aqueduct, looped around a couple of times and then back on Washington Street. Good news is that the tendinitis down by the knee feels much better after yesterday's day off, bad news is that adductor felt like crap almost the entire time. Did a few half-hearted strides at the end of the run which did more harm than good I'm afraid. Back to the direct pressure after the run, there's plenty going in and none of it good. The last RLTAC workout appears to have been the coup de grace following the slipping around on ice a couple weeks prior.

Tue 3/31 - off

the first of many Tuesdays off in the near future, in all likelihood. Adductor feels okay after yesterday's run, lower down on the medial knee attachment is still feeling sore though.

Mon 3/30 - PM 45 minutes

Tiger Drive to the near reaches of Longfellow, moving along much much quicker than any runs of the past few days. Due both to not having worked out for almost a week and to the fact that happily, yesterday's TLC on the adductor had the desired effect. Much better range of motion and less pain in general, although not completely gone of course. I toyed with the idea of doing strides but instead ran the last 10 minutes or so at or close to LT pace. Moving relatively quickly from the outset, had the run been longer I would have started slower but due to a very late start I had little time to work with. Cool but not cold, persistent showers from the daytime had dissipated by the time I got out there.

Sun 3/29 - 60 minutes easy

Area 51. Not capable of much more than a putter this morning, right adductor stuck and twinging to an obnoxious degree. Running anything faster than a slow jog aggravates it enormously. Cut the length of the run short as a result. Something of a nadir, which forced me to locate the spot that seems to be the root of the problem and do some direct pressure and cross-fiber friction on it. This seemed helpful, time will tell. The related soreness on the VMO attachment, which has been inflamed since November, doesn't seem to respond as directly. Dreary rainy conditions, the day started with a downpour which I waited out.

Sat 3/28 - double, 2 hours total

AM - 80 minutes easy, Lincoln woods. Right leg felt very stiff at the start, gradually loosened up from there. 4 strides on the way in which is the only fast running I've done since Tuesday. Most of the ice is now gone from even the most deeply shaded areas, some muddy spots as expected but overall things are coming along. Some slippery footing from the mud, esp. on hills.

PM -40 minutes easy, Area 51. Should have bagged this one due to being tired. Ran out of energy, not really a surprise. Chilly evening.
