1/2/10

Fri 1/1 - AM 65 minutes easy

Longfellow Loop. Very easy at the start and didn't get much quicker from there. Both hips sore from yesterday's faster effort on the treadmill (relatively speaking) and the quick turnaround time between runs. Puttered along as a result, straight recovery.

1/1/10

Thu 12/31 - PM 48 minutes on the treadmill

Forced inside by terrible footing after an afternoon storm. 10k on the nose, 6.6 to 9 mph in 2 minute increments. Got a little hard near the end, lack of fitness and all, but no real problems with either hip. Tendinitis on the medial right knee at gracilis attachment noticeable in the morning, but improved over the course of the day. Second visit to PT, left SI joint got another adjustment although it wasn't stuck nearly as bad as last week.

12/29 - PM 45 minutes

Longfellow loop. Looking forward to this all day despite abysmal wind chill conditions. Left hip once again more of an issue than the right one, in that it was getting fatigued after the half hour mark and wasn't going to last much longer.

12/28 - PM 47 minutes

to and from 10 Spencer via the most direct route possible. Taking a risk extending the length of the run but I figured a break in the middle would mitigate any muscle fatigue in either hip. Black ice in places made for tricky footing, this ended up being the only real concern as everything held together otherwise.

12/23-27 25-35 minutes a day

Back in the great outdoors, treadmill already starting to get stale after four short runs. Unable to stick to the EOD protocol, but it appears I'm not suffering for it. Pace very easy on the whole. Left hip the sore one now after the release of the SI joint on the 22nd. I'm not surprised by this at all, it's moving differently now than it has for months if not years. Stretching continues.

12/16-22 20-25 minutes every other day

all on the treadmill. Dusted off the orthotics for the first time in four years thinking they might help attenuate the soreness where the gracilis attaches near the knee. The 22nd was also marked by a visit to PT who found my left SI joint locked up. Released it and it felt different right away. No idea how long it had been stuck, probably since the injury in March but possibly for a lot longer.
