Wed 4/15 - PM 85 minutes

Track Road to Area 51. Back to the stage where I needed to take a break to do some direct pressure work, but found a gummed-up area that responded well to the field treatment and the rest of the run felt pretty good. Except for the fact my back has tightened up some as well from favoring it. Chilly evening, got a bit of a late start. NE breeze all day but sunny and clear as well, just not warm.

Ever thought about yoga to work on flexibility? Might help with all the nagging issues that appear to be from tightness.

I'm stuck in a bit of vicious cycle at the moment, post-run stretching has been getting short shrift due to late starts which in turn is due to long days due to coaching. In the summer and fall I'm not coaching, plenty of time to stretch after runs and I have a routine that works pretty well which includes two yoga poses. In the winter I run less which leaves time to get the stretching done. Right now I'm trying to keep the volume up while coaching as well, something has to give and it's been the stretching. It's either stretch after the run or get dinner made so I can get to bed at a decent hour. Of course, there is door #3, which is run less. I should know better. No matter what time of year it is, I don't have time in my schedule for a yoga class, but I have done some research on the topic.

The current woes also have a lot to do with my lame-brained attempt to run on trails in mid-March when they were still iced over. Strained my adductor pretty badly two days in a row. No amount of yoga was going to prevent that unless there's a pose that improves judgment.
