11/12/15

Thu 11/12 - PM 50 minutes incl. 15x200, 400

After a fair amount of dithering and a resultant late start, got out the door and down to the track for this standby "leg prep" session. Not quite leg prep but a security blanket nonetheless. Good conditions compared to the past few days of wind, rain, or both. Decided ahead of time to flip the recoveries from 300-200-100 jogs to 100-200-300 jog. Makes for a more impressive final 400 as I had more of a chance to catch my breath. Splits tell an interesting tale:

39.2 (38.2) 39.6 (72.0) 39.0 (1:48.8) - marking corners resulted in longer than normal recoveries
38.9 (34.0) 38.7 (63.9) 38.4 (93.7)
38.5 (33.2) 38.4 (62.6) 37.9 (91.4)
37.8 (35.0) 37.8 (62.4) 37.4 (93.6)
37.8 (34.5) 37.8 (62.7) 37.5 (94.4)
last 400 76.0
total time 27:10

Overall a good 2.5 minutes slower total time than the last time I did this workout in April. The difference being less in the repeats, which were on average 1.5-2 seconds slower, but in the recoveries. Massive differences there, which I'm hoping is down to ongoing underlying fatigue rather than shit fitness. Two sides of the same coin I suppose.
