Sat 5/2 - double, 90 minutes total incl 4x1000

AM - 60 minutes incl. 4x1000 w/1 minute recovery. Last-minute decision to even attempt anything on the track, as recently as yesterday afternoon I never would have thought it possible but the right hip felt better than it has on any morning the past few weeks. While possible, working out was still not advisable as the discomfort level grew after each repeat until I had to stop 150m into rep #5. The pace wasn't the issue, as it was 80 sec/lap, but the effort it took to run this pace while dragging my right leg along for the ride became too much. The real fun started after this as various muscles in the affected area seized up while I was walking back and I literally couldn't move w/o debilitating pain. I ended up prone on the side of the track. In addition to the usual suspects, TFL was heavily involved. Adduction and flexion movements were so acutely painful as to be impossible. The process of regaining mobility took over half an hour and included every trick in the book. Yet I was eventually able to jog 25 superslow minutes and stretch. The acute nature of these flareups this week when I attempt to run faster than a jog have gone past frustrating and are now just bizarrely intriguing. No longer sticking to a workout schedule for any other reason than the local yokel 5k in Stow, which I'll lose anyway if anyone worth a damn decides to show up.

PM - 30 minutes very very easy on Weston HS fields and trails followed by a good stretch. No discernible cardiovascular benefit to this run, simply a matter of maintaining some range of motion in the swollen and aggravated hip so I can get out of bed tomorrow morning.
