3/5/16
Sun 2/21 - PM 70 minutes incl. 3k track race
Lackluster end to an indoor track season that in truth ended two weeks ago. Ran reasonably well from a from a tactical perspective but so far from being anything resembling fit that it makes the whole thing roundly unsatisfying. Mostly even paced, I think, but certainly nothing resembling a rally in the final stages. Long cooldown along the river.
Fri 2/19 - PM 60 minutes easy
Levittown. Recovery jog.Woke up in the wee hours for no good reason and it left me utterly fried by the end of the day.
Thu 2/18 - 60 minutes incl. mile, 3 (400, 400, 200)
Likely the last workout indoors. Definitely feeling a going through the motions vibe, but compelled nonetheless. Ditched the "new interval" dynamic for the shorter reps while keeping the recovery intervals short, i.e. starting the reps on 2 minutes with 3 minutes or so after each 200. Initial mile went negative, relatively under control. Splits:

3R
74.8, 74.7, 36.0

74.5, 74.4, 35.5
Cooldown was shorter than warmup as usual and done inside. Cold outside and windy enough that a guy was windsurfing on a longboard in the parking lot when I arrived.

Wed 2/17 - PM 50 minutes easy
Tiger Drive to outskirts of Longfellow loop. Original plan was to do some kind of workout today but it simply wouldn't be happening. Apparently Monday's treadmill effort left a lot more of a mark than I thought coming on the heels of Sunday's failure on the track. Ugh.
Tue 2/16 - PM 60 minutes very easy
Levittown to Summerhill. Not feeling especially spry or energetic, some of which is down to yesterday's run I suppose. Cold snap ended definitively with temperatures about 30 degrees warmer than yesterday which was a nice change of pace.

Mon 2/15 - AM 90 minutes
50 minutes very easy with the CH, from Summerhill to White Pond and back via Track Road before puttering around downtown for a time. At this point I was sufficiently sick of the subfreezing temps that I decided to head inside and do the next 40 minutes on the treadmill. That portion started at 6 mph and ended at 10, ticking the speed up a tenth every minute along the way. As expected the last 10 minutes were something of a grind and the last 5 even more so. The closest I've come to a long run in a good while.
